Thirteen Specialist Doctor Posts at Leros Hospital

Thirteen specialist doctor posts at the Leros State Treatment Centre, General Hospital and Health Centre were announced as part of a new recruitment round by Greece's health ministry.

The announcement was made on social media by Emmanouil Pittarokoilis, vice-president of the hospital's board.

On behalf of the hospital administration, he thanked health minister Adonis Georgiadis, deputy health minister Marios Themistokleous and the 2nd Regional Health Authority of Piraeus and the Aegean for their cooperation and support in strengthening the hospital's medical workforce.

The approval of 1,131 specialist posts in the National Health System was described as one of the health ministry's largest national recruitment rounds in recent years.

Through coordinated work by the hospital administration and the organisations involved, Leros secured 13 posts across a range of specialties. The aim is to strengthen hospital operations and improve healthcare for residents and visitors to Leros and the wider area.

The announcement also acknowledged Dodecanese MP Ioannis Pappas for his continuing interest in and support for healthcare on the islands.

Doctors interested in applying were directed to the online portal at esydoctors.moh.gov.gr. Applications were due to open on 25 May 2026 and close on 15 June 2026.
