According to an announcement by the Leros Port Authority, live-fire exercises involving straight-trajectory weapons will take place on 22 May 2025 at the designated firing range in the area of N. Strongyli – Trypiti on the island of Leros.
The danger zone is defined by the following boundaries:
a) West: Area of Agios Ioannis Partheniou (Navy Facilities)
b) East: The islands of Strongyli and Trypiti, extending five (5) nautical miles further east into the sea
c) South: Vagia Heights
d) North: The imaginary line from N. Archangelos to N. Kalo-Podi
During this period, presence and passage of people, vehicles, and vessels within the designated area is strictly prohibited due to the danger.
Residents are specifically advised that if any unexploded ordnance is found in the area after the exercises, they must immediately notify the military or police authorities.
