Discussions on funding opportunities in the primary sector – Joint efforts to address challenges at Leros General Hospital
Important meetings were held today by the Mayor of Leros, Mr. Timotheos Kottakis, at his office, in the presence of City Council President Mr. Panagiotis Koumparos, Deputy Mayor Mr. Manolis Maravelias, and Councillor Mr. Christos Giannakos. The discussions focused on key issues regarding the island’s development, specifically in the areas of agriculture, livestock production, and public health.
The Mayor welcomed the Deputy Regional Governor of the South Aegean for the Primary Sector, Mr. Filimon Zannetidis, whom he described as “capable, active, and effective.” During the meeting, all matters related to the primary sector in Leros were reviewed, including opportunities for funding and infrastructure improvements. The discussion took place in a positive atmosphere, aiming to support the island’s productive forces.
Following that, a lengthy coordination meeting was held with the Director and members of the Administrative Board of Leros General Hospital, in the presence of the Mayor’s team. The meeting focused on the critical issues affecting the hospital, with the aim of improving health services for the local population.
As stated by Mayor Timotheos Kottakis, there was mutual understanding and a shared commitment to cooperate, with an agreement to jointly advocate for solutions to the challenges faced by the island’s healthcare system.
