PORT AUTHORITY OF LEROS – OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: We hereby inform you that scheduled live fire exercises will be conducted at sea on the following dates and times:
- Tuesday 13 May 2025, from 08:00 to 16:00
- Wednesday 14 May 2025, from 08:00 to 16:00
- Thursday 15 May 2025, from 08:00 to 16:00
The exercise will take place in the southeastern maritime area of Patmos Island (Cape Vitsilia), within the limits defined by the following geographic coordinates:
- a. 37°16.950’ N – 026°34.350’ E
- b. 37°16.900’ N – 026°35.400’ E
- c. 37°15.100’ N – 026°35.600’ E
- d. 37°15.150’ N – 026°32.150’ E
- e. 37°16.500’ N – 026°32.500’ E
During the above timeframes, navigation and approach of any vessels or boats within the designated area are strictly prohibited for safety reasons due to the live ammunition firing.
Port Authority of Leros kindly request that all relevant nautical clubs inform their members and ensure that all appropriate safety measures are taken. Media outlets are requested to announce this notification from the date of receipt until the early hours of 15 May 2025, for public awareness and maritime safety.
