A highly successful charitable event took place on Sunday, 18 May 2025, at the Leros Municipal Cinema, organised by the Music Workshops of the Cultural Association “Artemis” in collaboration with the “Iones” and “AIAL” associations. The purpose of the event was to support the “Isidoreio” Nursing Home.
The event was honoured by the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Paisios of Leros, the Right Reverend Bishop Stefanos of Stratonikeia, regional representative Mr Ioannis Themelaros, the Chair of the Municipal Cultural Committee Ms Frosso Tzanoudaki, and a large crowd that filled the venue to capacity.
His Eminence the Metropolitan expressed his heartfelt thanks and congratulations for the initiative, praising the great love and solidarity shown towards the Isidoreio Foundation. He highlighted the contributions of many citizens of Leros to the “Isidoreio” Nursing Home, particularly to the residents, through various acts of compassion and support.
The Metropolitan also commended the group of young musicians, whose performance showcased the musical roots and cultural heritage of the island. Through the continued efforts and dedication of Mr Antonis Dallaris, President of the Artemis Association, Leros’s rich musical and dance traditions are being promoted with dignity both nationally and abroad.
The young performers delivered an outstanding interpretation of traditional songs and instrumental pieces, earning resounding applause from the audience. Especially moving was their initiative to dedicate this concert to supporting the elderly residents of the island.
