PRESS RELEASE – As the opposition within our municipality, our role is two-fold: to scrutinise the decisions of the municipal authority and to propose alternative solutions where necessary. I undertake this role with consistency and responsibility as your municipal councillor.
I believe in transparency and open communication. My aim is to keep you informed of the key matters discussed and decided at municipal council meetings, as well as to present our position—particularly when significant disagreements arise.
At today’s council meeting, I opposed several line items in the budget amendment. These concern direct awards totalling approximately €200,000 for consultancy services, without clear indication of who has costed them or how they will be evaluated upon delivery. I formally raised these questions during the session and will continue to seek answers.
I would also like to inform you that, when voting on the budget, it is not possible to vote selectively—that is, to approve or reject individual line items. Therefore, if we disagree with even one line item, we are compelled to vote against the entire budget.
