On Wednesday, 14 May 2025, as is customary each year, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was held at the Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Leros, for the success and strengthening of the island’s Lyceum graduates taking part in the national university entrance examinations.

The Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Paisios, assisted by His Grace Bishop Stephanos of Stratonikeia, the parish priest of the church Fr. Nikolaos Tachliambouris, and Presbytery Fr. Paisios Angelakis.

At the chanter’s stand, the psalms were chanted by Raphael Chatzilaris, Angelos Angelidis, and Christos Kyrou.Attending the service were local political authorities, the headteachers and teaching staff of the General Lyceum and Vocational Lyceum (EPAL), final-year students, their parents, and numerous faithful.

At the conclusion of the Liturgy, the Metropolitan addressed the graduating students with appropriate words, offering them his heartfelt wishes for success and the fulfilment of their aspirations. He emphasised the courage required for the examinations, highlighting that their solid education, the dedication of their teachers, and the unwavering support of their parents provide them with the confidence to approach the exams free from anxiety.

Almost all students received Holy Communion, and the Metropolitan distributed blessed bread and a symbolic gift to each of them.
