In the early hours yesterday (14 August 2025), the Leros Port Authority was alerted by a lifeguard that a 27-year-old foreign national (an Italian citizen) had disembarked at Panteli from a passenger-tourist vessel anchored in Panteli Bay, requiring urgent medical attention.
Coast Guard personnel promptly arrived at the scene, where they found the 27-year-old with injuries to his right arm, receiving initial first aid from the lifeguard.
The injured man was then transferred aboard a Coast Guard patrol vehicle and taken to the Leros Health Centre, from which he was discharged later the same day.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Leros Port Authority.
