The School Committee of Leros ANNOUNCES, the granting—following a selection process—of two (2) scholarships from the income generated by the following endowments: a) “Brotherhood of Lerians in Egypt,” b) “Emmanuel Tsigadas,” and c) “Vasileios Nikolaidis,” for the academic year 2024-2025. These scholarships are intended for students attending any department of higher education institutions across Greece.
SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
* Applicants must be graduates of the General Lyceum of Leros or the Vocational High School (EPAL) of Leros.
* Permanent residence on the island of Leros.
* Proven financial hardship (children from impoverished families, children who have lost one or both parents, children from large families, children of divorced parents, children with severe health problems or whose parents have severe health problems (disability over 67%).
* Applicants must be diligent students who successfully pass their academic courses.
* Must not receive another scholarship from any other institution, public or private.
SUBMISSION OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
Applicants must submit the following supporting documents in person by 11:00 a.m. on 30 June 2025, at the offices of the School Committee located at the “Patriarchate” in Alinda, or alternatively via email at [imlerou1888@gmail.com](mailto:imlerou1888@gmail.com):
* Application form.
* Certificate of studies proving the applicant’s diligence and successful completion of all academic courses.
* Criminal record certificate.
* Copy of National ID card.
* Applicants must not exceed 30 years of age.
* Family status certificate.
* Any document or certificate demonstrating social or other eligibility criteria (e.g., large family status, loss of a parent, illness, single-parent family, etc.).
* Certificate of permanent residency.
* Copy of the tax clearance certificate for the 2024 fiscal year, concerning both the candidate’s family and the candidate themselves if required to submit a tax return. Declared income includes all sources, regardless of taxation.
* Recent Real Estate Declaration form (E9) for the candidate’s family and the candidate themselves.
* Property Ownership Tax Declaration (ENFIA) for 2024.
* Bank certificates: if income from interest (codes 667 & 668) is stated in family or individual tax statements, relevant bank certificates must be provided for funds as of 31 December 2024, including checking or savings accounts, shares, bonds, and other securities.
* Statutory Declaration under Law 1599/1986, stating: a) acceptance of the conditions outlined in this call, b) the applicant has not received, nor is currently receiving, another scholarship for the same studies from this or any other legacy, endowment, or charitable institution in Greece, and c) the provided information is accurate and has not changed as of the application submission date.
Incomplete submissions may be supplemented until the application deadline. Failure to submit complete documentation will result in rejection.
SELECTION OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Administrative Committee of the School Committee of Leros in a dedicated session following an examination of submitted documentation, based on the criteria outlined above.
The decision of the Administrative Committee of the School Committee of Leros will be posted electronically on the website [www.im-leka.gr](http://www.im-leka.gr) and on local online media.
If multiple candidates equally meet the scholarship criteria, recipients will be determined by drawing lots.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT – DURATION
The total amount per scholarship is €1,200.00 annually (covering an eight-month academic period at €150/month), continuing for the duration of their studies until completion, contingent upon diligent academic performance, verified annually by the submitted certificate of studies. If academic diligence is not demonstrated, the financial support will be discontinued.
