Very High Wildfire Risk for Leros on 15 July

The Autonomous Directorate of Civil Protection & Climate Crisis of the South Aegean Region informs thaton 15-7-2026, according to the Daily Fire Risk Forecast Map drawn up by the Planning and Emergency Response Directorate of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, the risk of fires in the South Aegean Region -P.E. Kalymnos & P.E. Mrit isvery high (Risk Category 4)and all the competent services are in a state of heightened alertness.

We kindly ask the citizens and visitors of the South Aegean Islands,be especially careful, to avoid any action or work in the open air, which may inadvertently cause a fireand yesnotify the Fire Service immediately (tel. 199)in any event falling within their grasp. Also, due to the increased risk of fire and the strong winds that occur, we ask them very muchfarmers, breeders and beekeepersthat operate in the islands of the South Aegean Region - P.E. Dodecanese,be especially careful,to comply with what is provided for in the applicable Fire Regulationsand yesnotify the Fire Service immediatelyin any event falling within their grasp.

Foron 15-7-2026 the ban on the passage, stay and movement of persons and vehicles will applyin NATURA areas, forest ecosystems, parks and groves, as defined in Law 998/1979 (A' 289) for theP.E. Kalymnos & P.E. Mrin the areas included in no. application no. first849/4-5-2026 (AD PSO0Y7LX-667)Decision also for the areas of the islandsKos and Kalymnosdescribed therein

The ban will be in effect on the days when the risk indicator will be:

• category 4(from 2pm to 6am the following day) for all designated areas ofP.E. Kalymnos & P.E. Mr.

The prohibition does not include persons who live or work in the above areas, solely for the purpose of commuting to and from their residence or work, as well as persons who move within the road network, subject to the possibility of imposing the measure of the traffic ban also on parts of the road network by the relevant bodies in accordance with the relevant provisions (Article 130 of Law 4926/2022 (Government Gazette 82/A/2022).In case of non-compliance with the above Decisionsan administrative fine of three hundred (300) euros will be imposed,in accordance with Law 4926/2022 (Government Gazette 82/A/2022) article 129§4.
