INVITATION: The Centre for Culture, Research and Development of LerosDiana, in collaboration withLeros Theatre Group, invites you to a special event dedicated to the life and work of the poet Olympia Karagiorga, almost two years after her death.
A versatile and multi-talented personality, for whom poetry was not only creation, but a way of life, thinking and seeing the world.
Born in Egypt, with Greece always present in her life and thoughts, Olympia Karagiorga was destined to be deeply connected to Leros, her place. Here she lived the last decades of her life, created and left her own special imprint. Her relationship with the island was also reflected in her work, with the poetic collection "Winter in Leros" as a typical example.
Through the speech of Manolis Maragoulis, PhD in Philology, the display of photographic material and covers of her books, as well as the reading of selected poems, her poetic universe will unfold, as well as the special personality behind it.
