On Sunday, August 2, 2026, the historic "Alindia 2026" sailing races will take place on the beach of Alindia, continuing an institution that started in 1907.
The games will be held at Alinton beach, at the height of the Belleni Tower, with a start time of 17:45. The programme will open with greetings and the official announcement of the opening by the Mayor of Leros, while at 17:55 the athlete's oath will follow.
The competitive part includes swimming courses for children and youth of different age groups, with boards and sea mattresses, 50 and 100 metre freestyle swimming races, mixed relay, children's and teenagers' canoe race, as well as men's and women's discus competition.
The programme also includes free swimming of one mile, on the route Agia Marina - Alinda.
"Alindia 2026" is co-organised by The Municipality of Leros, the Youth Gymnastic Association of Leros, the Lifeguard Association, the Leros Boat Club and the Leros Search and Rescue Team.
